John turned and took in the German scientist heading for him... the one he'd asked to follow him out of the conference room... the one who apparently had followed him out and probably had overheard his argument with Rodney. "Doctor Reichstadt." John nodded. "Were you...?" He motioned vaguely, not even sure what he was asking.
There wasn't much talk as they walked back to Carson's quarters. He knew the Athosians had got his surprise ready for Rodney already, and he was looking forward to seeing Rodney's reaction, but Radek was so depressed and subdued that Carson was very worried.
After his lunch with Perna, Jack had been sent home and had spent the day alternately nodding off and sifting through what data they'd gathered on their Mainland trip. He was hoping another one would be forthcoming

After lunch (and his rather interesting dessert) Carson made his way back to the infirmary. His first stop on his afternoon rounds was Dr. Patel, who'd been brought in yesterday during the Wraith hunt, malnourished and dehydrated.
Perna looked up from her reading as she saw Carson leave the infirmary from the corners of her eyes. It hurt that he hadn't asked her to join him for lunch. It was a habit she had gotten used to back home on Hoff. And by the way he'd smiled, she could guess who he was going to have for company during the meal.
